Dr Liman Li Selected as Mentor under Hong Kong Scholars Programme 2026
Dr Liman Li, Acting Head and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), has been selected as a mentor under the Hong Kong Scholars Programme 2026. In this role, she will supervise a postdoctoral fellow from the Chinese Mainland and support collaborative research in psychology.
Dr Li’s research focuses on mental health, decision-making processes, and social relationships from a socio-ecological perspective. Under the programme, her mentorship will centre on the funded project “Depression Symptoms: A Social-Network Perspective.”
“I am deeply honoured by this appointment,” said Dr Li. “The programme offers an excellent platform for connecting with top-tier talent from the Chinese Mainland. It enables me to collaborate with bright young scholars to advance our understanding of mental health through innovative and interdisciplinary research.”
Jointly organised by the Society of Hong Kong Scholars and the China National Postdoctoral Council under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Hong Kong Scholars Programme brings together talent resources and research strengths by pairing high-calibre postdoctoral researchers from the Chinese Mainland with leading Hong Kong academics for advanced research. This year, five scholars from EdUHK have been selected as mentors under the programme, achieving the highest success rate among the nine participating institutions.
